  • Collaboration in the development of projects with a focus on downstream processing and the reprocessing of organic products
  • Independent implementation of projects
  • Experimental development, scaling and evaluation of downstream processes in coordination with the upstream team
  • Work within an interdisciplinary and intercultural project team consisting of internal and external project members
  • Interface with external service providers, project partners and institutes as well as with internal departments (central laboratory, biotechnology centre, etc.)
  • Support in the planning and operation of the biotechnology centre
  • Planning, preparation and supervision of experiments
  • Providing technical guidance to laboratory and other staff members
  • Reporting to the head of department and the project management



  • Completed university studies in biotechnology, process engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, natural sciences or equivalent
  • Several years of practical experience in the processing of bioproducts in the context of a doctorate or in industry
  • Basic knowledge and/or practical experience in process development, scaling and evaluation
  • Experience in independent experimental design and implementation
  • In-depth knowledge in the processing of organic products
  • Knowledge in the field of statistical experimental design/design of experiments
  • Knowledge of project management, risk management
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Hands-on mentality and assertiveness
  • Supportive working style, teamwork
