  • Collaboration in projects for the new and further development of innovative and sustainable packaging materials
  • Internal and external contact person on the subject of packaging machines, as well as machines and processes for packaging material production
  • Development and implementation of prototype plants and processes in the field of bio-based materials
  • Supporting the development of pilot installations of newly developed materials
  • Networking of stakeholders on packaging materials, processing equipment suppliers and customers
  • Working in an interdisciplinary and intercultural project team consisting of internal and external project members
  • Supporting the design of the metrological infrastructure for application tests
  • Reporting on the project to the next line manager



  • University degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, packaging technology or materials science; preferably with a background in sustainable chemistry and polymer technology

  • Several years of experience in the field of packaging material production and processing
  • Practical experience in the development and production of plastics
  • Strong chemical and process engineering understanding (production processes and equipment)
  • Sound knowledge in the field of organic chemical synthesis and polymer chemistry
  • Experience in managing external cooperation partners
  • Experience in the development of packaging functionalities, recyclability, LCA, barrier properties and manufacturing technologies is desirable
  • Food network in research and industry at international level
  • Knowledge of project management, risk management
  • Confident handling of MS-Office
  • Creativity in problem solving
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
